Fit and Wrap (With Tennis Balls in hands)
Fit and Drive (With Tennis Balls in Hands)
Angle Tackle
Not to ground, drive through runner for 3 Yards, with tennis balls in hands
Full speed to ground
Splatter Tackling
Fixed pose, fit and lift runner onto landing pad
Full speed onto landing pad
If tackle is missed, or runner gives up, introduce suffering (bear crawls, up downs, sit ups)
Open Field Tackling
Angle of Pursuit Drill (Beginner)
Create an arc with cones at 5 yard points.
runner starts in middle, behind arc.
Defender is in breakdown in middle of arc.
On go, runner traces the outside of the arc. Defender must beat him to a cone. If he fails, he must do sit ups or push ups or something else unpleasant.
Footwork drill (Intermediate)
Create a 5y or 10y box.
One defender and one ball carrier separated on either end.
Defender’s arms are immobilized by holding a broomstick behind their back.
Ball carrier can start in one direction and do one juke.
Defender must remain aligned with carrier with open hips and knees bent. Shimmy-step on close.
Juke with Chaser (Advanced)
Create a 5y x 5y box. Create two even team.
One end is the goal. Place one tackler in front of line.
Opposite end is line of scrimmage. Place one runner with ball.
5 yards behind the runner place a chaser.
On go, runner attempts to score with whatever moves he chooses, but with knowledge that the chaser is bearing down from behind to tackle him.
If runner scores, his team gets a point. If runner does not score, his team gets a point. Winning team gets helmet stickers.
